Sonic Reality Ken Scott Collection multitrack Drum Kits and Grooves
Sonic Reality sound development company is announcing the “Ken Scott Collection” as part of its Studio ProFiles line of multitrack drum kits and grooves. For the first time, Ken Scott who has engineered for The Beatles and Pink Floyd and produced classic albums from Supertramp, David Bowie and Elton John is revisiting the late 60’s and 70’s with Sonic Reality’s Dave Kerzner to reproduce classic drum sounds he’s recorded over the years to be made into playable drum kits and loops for musicians to use in their music today. It features multitrack drum hits and grooves of Bob Siebenberg (Supertramp), Woody Woodmansey (David Bowie – Spiders from Mars), Rod Morgenstein (Dixie Dregs) and Billy Cobham (Mahavishnu Orchestra) all recorded with the original vintage equipment to both analog 2 inch tape and high resolution digital for the best of both worlds.
“It is an honor to be co-producing drum samples with a legend like Ken Scott.” Says Sonic Reality CEO Dave Kerzner “I feel like we’re capturing a piece of musical history that is not only nostalgic and educational but also interactive and useful for creating new music.”
“I came to Sonic Reality because they’re simply the best when it comes to sampled drums. The expressive possibilities of their I-Map is brilliant.” Says Ken Scott “I wanted to capture the sounds I got in the studio that would be increasingly harder and harder to get as the specific equipment I used at the time has become quite scarce. I also wanted to do it with the original drummers from those sessions to capture their unique style and feel. We’re excited about bringing today’s musicians the classic sound of drums from a time when everything was analog.”
