Two models, P140 and P140S, carry on the Yamaha P Series tradition with the added advantages of competitive price points, superior sound quality, Flash-ROM user song memory and more portable designs. The P140 Series features 88 weighted piano-sized keys, 64 notes of polyphony and 14 of Yamaha’s best keyboard voices, each with three tonal variations. With the ultra-realistic Yamaha Stereo Grand Piano voice, three separate layers of stereo samples provide accurate reproduction of tone, harmonics and subtle details, including key-off and stereo sustain samples. And with the Graded Hammer (GH) keyboard, the action is as close to the real thing that you can get. With the two-track adjustable tempo sequencer, you can record your original music, play along for practice, or even overdub a second part—Flash-ROM recording memory means songs don’t disappear upon shut-down. Play different voices for left- and right-hand parts in “Split” mode, or layer piano and string voices in “Dual” mode. Onboard effects include multiple reverbs, chorus, phaser, tremolo and an adjustable rotary speaker. The P140 builds on the exceptional tone and audio quality that musicians have come to expect from Yamaha P Series digital pianos. Enjoy the P140 through the privacy of headphones—there are even dual front-mounted jacks so that two people can play or listen without disturbing the rest of the household—or through the discrete, integrated speaker system powered by one of the most efficient amplifiers found in digital pianos today.
