Yamaha P140 Digital Piano, replaces P120Whether you’re taking music lessons for the first time, or are curious as to what happens when you connect a musical instrument to your home computer, Yamaha’s Contemporary Digital Pianos give you the right features at the right price from the most trusted name in digital pianos. And, regardless of your musical experience or piano playing ability, the Yamaha P Series offers a range of models with the right features, realistic touch and tone, and a name that’s synonymous with the world’s leading manufacturer of acoustic pianos.Yamaha P140 Consumers in the market for a compact, contemporary-looking, piano-focused instrument have new options with the P140 Series. Two models, P140 and P140S, carry on the Yamaha P Series tradition at attractive price points with the added advantages of superior sound quality, Flash-ROM user song memory and more portable designs. The P140 Series features 88 weighted piano-sized keys, 64 notes of polyphony and 14 of Yamaha’s best keyboard voices, each with three tonal variations. With the ultra-realistic Yamaha Stereo Grand Piano voice, three separate layers of stereo samples provide accurate reproduction of tone, harmonics and subtle details, including key-off and stereo sustain samples. And with the Graded Hammer (GH) keyboard, the action is as close to the real thing that you can get. The two-track adjustable tempo sequencer will allow you to record your original music, play along for practice, or even overdub a second part—Flash-ROM recording memory means songs don’t disappear when you shut-down. Play different voices for left- and right-hand parts in “Split” mode, or layer piano and string voices in “Dual” mode. Onboard effects include multiple reverbs, chorus, phaser, tremolo and an adjustable rotary speaker. Yamaha P140S The P140 builds on the exceptional tone and audio quality that musicians have come to expect from Yamaha’s P Series digital pianos. Enjoy the P140 through the privacy of headphones—there are even dual front-mounted jacks so that two people can play or listen without disturbing the rest of the household—or through the discrete, integrated speaker system powered by one of the most efficient amplifiers found in digital pianos today. Either way, you’ll be amazed at the amount and brilliance of sound produced by such a compact unit. Yamaha’s PC Music Studio Kit (sold separately) will connect the instrument directly to any Windows compatible computer for such activities as printing music, recording performances, and even virtual piano lessons. The low-profile, lightweight models are available in Black with Dark Oak (P140) or Silver with Light Maple (P140S) finishes, and an optional matching-finish stand is also available.
