Yamaha YDP213 Digital Hammer Action PianoFor the serious hobbyist or aspiring musician, Yamaha announces an instrument with enhanced feel at a new lower price point. The new YDP213 Digital Console Piano is an 88-note wood cabinet-style instrument with new Graded Hammer Standard action and a one-song, single-track recorder.Yamaha YDP213 Designed to offer a realistic acoustic piano playing experience with the convenience of a digital instrument, the YDP213 features Advanced Wave Memory stereo samples of a Yamaha concert grand piano along with highly efficient, dual 6-watt amplifiers. Other features include an attractive Walnut-finish cabinet with a pedal frame and rear modesty back panel. More affordable than ever, the YDP213 is expected to ship in February, 2006, and will replace current model YDP113. “For home practice and enjoyment, the YDP213 can’t be beat,” says Dane Madsen, marketing manager, Digital Piano Department, Yamaha Professional Audio and Combo Division. “This model not only represents a tremendous value, but has sound quality—thanks to the AWM piano samples—that has to be heard to be believed.” Ideal as a low-profile home piano for silent practice with headphones or personal performances using internal speakers, the YDP213 records performances for critical listening or simply for enjoyment. Along with the 50 built-in songs of classic piano repertoire, another key feature is the Flash-ROM storage of user songs. The YDP series has consistently been a best-seller in its category, and the YDP213 promises to continue that tradition. “The Graded Hammer Standard, which is worthy of the Yamaha name and its acoustic piano heritage, allows us to maintain a proven cabinet design and feature set at a considerably lower cost,” says Madsen. “Users will ultimately pay less for the touch, tone, and look they want from a piano manufacturer that they already trust.”
